My poor guys......
Yes, plural....guys. Justin woke up this morning feeling extremely nauseous so I guess he may have a little touch of Cade's bug. Cade didn't last long at school yesterday. He threw up yesterday morning.....again! I don't know what to think. Is it a stomach bug like everyone else has? Is it a reaction to his vaccines he had last week? Could it be his formula? I am sure that he has a touch of a stomach bug but he has been throwing up since last Friday afternoon. It has definitely gotten better but has not yet ceased. He threw up again this morning. It is not nearly as much as it was so I know that it is getting better but I hate that he is still getting sick. Yes....I have called the doctors numerous times and they keep telling me to keep him hydrated and to watch his diapers. He isn't running a fever and he has wet diapers so I know he still has plenty of fluids. He took a whole bottle as well as some pedialyte last night without getting sick then he took a bottle this morning and couldn't hold it down. Justin is home with him right now and hopefully they will both be feeling better soon!

WORST WEEKEND EVER!!!
Well, from the heading I am sure you can guess that the Forrester household didn't have quite as good of weekend that we always look forward to. It started Friday afternoon.....at daycare. Justin picked Cade up from school around 3:30 and his teacher told Justin that Cade had just thrown up and that he was one of two students in class because all of the other kids had called in sick with a stomach bug. Ok.......we just thought maybe....hopefully... that it was a fluke and Cade would get lucky on skipping out on the stomach bug..........wow were we wrong!!! I came home around 5 and went straight to give Cade a hug. The three of us were going to go out to dinner so Justin was dressed in his new shoes, new shirt and new jeans that he had bought that afternoon. When I picked Cade up to give him a hug, I had him facing Justin........uh oh....Cade puked all over Justin's new outfit......and our boxer Ridge got a little vomit bath as well! I couldn't help but laugh though I know if I were in Justin's wet sticky shoes, I probably would have cried. This was the beginning of a long, long weekend. Poor baby was up all night throwing up. I think every square inch of flooring in our house received a vomit wax. And what a weekend to pick to be sick! I was getting worried about Cade becoming dehydrated because all Friday night he could not keep anything down but he seemed to be feeling a little better on Saturday. I did call the nurse at his doctor's office though because he had not had a wet diaper in almost 12 hours! Extremely damp diaper, yes....but like usual, no where near. The nurse said to keep track of his diapers and to put some cotton balls in each diaper so I could actually see if he was using the restroom since the diaper absorbs and it would have been harder to tell. She also said to start him on some pedialyte. If he did not have a wet diaper by that night or if he was starting to get lethargic, the nurse told me to take him to the ER for an IV. So off we went to the store for cotton balls and pedialyte.
Needless to say, Cade would not drink the pedialyte. Has anyone ever tried this stuff? It taste like thick, flavored snot being forced down your throat! No wonder. So I had to give him a shot of it down his throat every fifteen minutes...Poor guy....he gaged every time. But it seemed to start working that night. The cotton balls were yellow!
Yesterday seemed to be better. Cade only got sick twice all day....once was in mommy's hair...but that's okay as long as he is starting to feel better.
Today seems to be better....hopefully. I hate that it had to be this weekend for the bug. We had to miss out on my cousin's wedding on Saturday because I couldn't take Cade and I didn't want to leave him just in case he had to make a run to the ER but I hate we missed it. Also, yesterday I was supposed to go with my mom to see the Radio City Rockettes and I had really, really been looking forward to it......but yesterday morning.....I woke up with the bug! Crap! I am really disappointed that I didn't get to go. It's rare that my mom and I get to do anything because we are all so busy. My dad had to go in my place and I am sure that he enjoyed the show too. Oh well! Maybe next year.

We survived the dreaded six month appointment!!!
Stats:
Weight: 18lbs7oz
Length: 28inch's
Dr. Jamie was extremely pleased with everything except for the fact that Cade is still waking up a few times a night. She said that he should be sleeping through the night now and that we need to let him cry it out instead of running in to save him. She told me everything that I already knew, just haven't had the heart to follow through. I tried to let him cry for a little while last night.....I lasted 3 minutes to be exact but I had to go in and get him. He had such a rough day with the shots, the last thing that he needed was not having his mommy come in to let him know everything was alright. When I went to get him, I picked him up and he looked so sad. His bottom lip was puckered out and he had tears running down his cheeks. Needless to say, he got to stay up and watch some of a movie with me and his daddy. I promised Justin that I would try harder tonight to let him soothe himself back to sleep.......5 minutes is my goal.

Wow! My baby is six months old already! I can't believe it. It feels like its only been days since I was in the hospital. It is amazing how time flies. Justin and I have been so blessed to have Cade in our lives. He has made such a huge impact on us. He melts our hearts when he wakes up smiling.
On another note, Cade has his six month appointment on Thursday. I hate these appointments more than I hate going to the dentist and I always thought that I hated the dentist more than anything.......at least until four months ago when Cade had his first "well baby" check up. It makes it worse because he is such a happy baby and rarely cries. The number of shots that they give babies is insane. He will have to get four shots at this appointment. The mean nurse comes in and jabs those needles into his thighs. It makes me tear up every time. Last time, the nurse said that she was worried someone was going to call the police by the way Cade was screaming. He has the loudest scream ever when he is hurting. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. I know that he needs his vaccines, but can't they find a way to give them in a liquid form???
