So this past Sunday was my first night away from the family since Cade was born. I had to go to Boston for work and leave poor Justin to fend for himself. Is it awful that I was extremely excited about a quite hotel room for the night?? Oh well........it was awesome! Justin didn't have too difficult of a time but definitely realized that he does not want to be a stay at home daddy. Cade kept his daddy hands-on all day. Justin said that he couldn't put him down to do anything. (I think that the ladies at daycare hold him all day long so it's safe to say that he is spoiled.) I was welcomed back with open arms and baby Cade.

So I picked Cade up from school yesterday and he was extremely content. We got in the car and made it out of the parking lot before all hell broke loose. He started his little whimper and I saw in the mirror that his bottom lip was starting to turn........I try to console him as well as I can in 5 o' clock (which is not much). I can feel all of the truckers looking down on my car and getting a good laugh but there is nothing that I can do. The screams are getting louder and louder....so I try a trick that my mom said worked with me and turn the radio up for a slight few seconds to see if that can get his attention and get him to quit crying. Well, it got his attention alright but he took it the wrong way. He must have thought it was a contest to see who could be the loudest....him or the radio. Needless to say, he won hands down. What seems like hours go by and finally......silence. I look in the mirror and he is sound asleep. Perfect! I decide to stop by Backyard Burger to get dinner for Justin thinking that I can safely and without embarrassment get through this easy experience. I order and pay....no problem.......and then it awakens with a vengeance! Sitting there, waiting on my order, screaming baby, no bottle, no end in sight. Of course this is the time that Justin's burger could be placed in the Guinness Book of World Records for Longest Cooking Time Ever!! Finally, finally, we get our food and press on. This kid screamed until we got in my driveway, got him out of his car seat, bottle in hand, still screaming.........then I barely touch his lips with his bottle and silence. He just looked up and me with his watery eyes and lips locked and grinned. That little stinker.......he is suck a fake. He wasn't the least bit hungry, wet, or anything......just my spoiled little guy. You gotta love him.
Today is Cade's third day of school. Isn't is supposed to be getting easier instead of harder??? When we wake up in the morning, he has this huge grin that just melts me. He already has me in the palm of his hand. This smile makes me want to hold on to him all day long.

We survived the first day of school! I arrived to pick Cade up around 3:30 yesterday afternoon and he was sound asleep. His teachers said that he was great and gave me his first report card. I think he gets one everyday to let me know what he did throughout the day. Yesterday he was given an infant massage (whatever that is), they worked his large and small muscle, danced with him and read to him. He must have had some fun because he slept from the time I picked him up until 1 am. Today is his first full day so we will see how he does. I don't think that they are breaking him of being spoiled (held constantly) because his teacher this morning said that the girls fought over who got to hold him next :) Oh well! I would rather him be spoiled rotten than crying.

First day of school
Today was Cade's first day at school. I had to wake him up and thought that he was going to get mad but surprisingly he was all smiles and giggles. It made it harder to take him to school. He was not a happy camper when he was put in his carseat which was expected but calmed down once we got on the interstate. It was really cute.......he held my finger the whole car ride and I did not want to let him go when we arrived. Anyway, when we got there, we met Ms. Sharon, the daycare director. She handles all of the kids in the morning until the teachers arrive. She definitely had her hands full this morning. Cade just sat and looked around wide-eyed not making a peep. Ms. Sharon took him and he just layed his head on her shoulder and started to drift off.......not a care in the world. Meanwhile, I have to make a beeline for the door before tears start to flow. I made it to the car composed and makeup still in tact. I am still hanging in there. I can keep feeling my eyes well up with tears but I am being strong. I know that he is going to love going to school with the other babies but I just wish it didn't have to be so soon. I will post a picture from this morning soon. He had his cute plaid overalls and new shirt on. He looked so handsome! I can't wait to pick him up this afternoon.

Last night of freedom before I have to try and get back on a sleeping schedule for work on Monday........wait that's funny.......a sleeping schedule with the little guy??? I wonder how long someone can keep truckin on 3 1/2 hours of sleep?? I guess we will find out. It's my fault, karma I guess. I kept giving a guy at work a hard time when his baby was born. He would come to work half alive and I would ALWAYS tell him that MY baby was going to sleep through the night and that sleep deprivation was not going to be a problem for me. HA!
This will be Justin's first off days alone with the little guy. I wish that I could be a fly on the wall. He thinks that HE will be able to catch up on all of the housework that has somehow fell behind. I need to make a bet...
His mom is on call just in case. Poor Justin......gotta love him.
