My poor little guy is soooo sick. He is pitiful. Tuesday night I woke up to him wheezing and coughing so Wednesday I took him to the doctor. He has croup and an ear infection. They prescribed him some antibiotics and I thought that he was starting to feel better when I left him with daddy yesterday morning but when I got home yesterday afternoon he looked awful. Justin's mom had him yesterday afternoon so Justin could go to work and when she opened the door when I got home, Cade's eyes were as red as could be. This morning he woke up with a 100 degree fever. He is home with daddy again until lunch and then I will be heading home to take care of my little man. What a way to celebrate his first Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween!!!

I got upset this morning when I dropped Cade off at school. We went in and I was holding him while talking to his teacher and he held out his arms for her to take him:( !! I know it's stupid but I wanted to be the first that he reached for and got excited to see. I have been working with him everyday on it but he just hasn't gotten the concept.....or I didn't think so. So sad but I am glad that he is recognizing who his teachers are and seems to love them. When I pick him up in the afternoons, he will flash me a quick smile when he sees me and then his eyes are right back on his teachers. They are locked and he is giving them his cute little grin. He is such a flirt!

Also, I seem to have a high maintenance baby when it comes to food. He will not......I repeat...will not eat baby food. He makes the worst face and his entire body shakes. It makes me laugh just thinking about it (so cruel, I know). He also gags himself like baby food is the worst stuff in the world. I have tried bananas, pears, applesauce, bananas and applesauce dessert, carrots and squash. I did a taste test of the bananas and they were actually pretty good. Then I moved to the squash.....I think my entire body shook just like Cade's does. How can this stuff be sold? It is awful! I had to apologize to Cade and vowed that I would never make him eat squash again. He has to start to eat something though..... Justin's mom had said that she used to buy fresh bananas and put them in a food processor so I thought that I would give it a try. Like father like son, he loved them........for the first few bites and then he started his dramatic gagging. I think he is just trying to get attention now because they were really sweet and good.

Woo-hoo!!! Mark it down people.......Cade slept all night long!!! He went to sleep a little later than normal, around 9pm, and was still asleep when I left for work at 6am. I of course, woke up numerous times to make sure he was still breathing as I am not used to a night of silence, but he was a-okay. He did wake up for a few seconds around 4 because he had flipped himself on his back and was talking to himself, but I flipped him back on his belly and he went straight to sleep. Let's keep our fingers crossed that this will be the beginning of the end to the sleepless nights.

He hasn't quite figured out that the food is supposed to be kept in his mouth instead of pushed out but we are getting there. He is so funny when he starts to eat something. He flares his nostrils as wide as possible like he has just had something horrible and then he wants more. Too cute.

4 Month Birthday!!!

I can't believe that Cade is 4 months old already!!! He had his 4 month check up and weighed in at 15lbs 12oz and 26 inches long. He also had his shots and the poor guy's face turned as red as possible. His daddy wouldn't go with us because he didn't want to see Cade cry so I had to be the face that he saw while he was getting stuck. I promise you that every time he looked at me that afternoon, he stuck his little lip out and started to cry. It broke my heart!! Daddy is definitely going next time. After a long day of napping and whining, I am happy to report that he has fully recovered. We also got to start him on light baby food so we began with bananas last night. I have a picture that I will post. He hasn't quite gotten the concept of how to eat out of a spoon yet. He pushes it out instead of swallowing it. He also flares his nostrils as wide as he can each time I put a little in his mouth....but then wanted more. It was so cute!!! I can't wait for the applesauce tonight.
